Floor Lamp (2017)
Patinated and polished bronze.

ø lampshade: 50 cm / 19.6 in.

Rising from a textured base, the slender pole of this elegant floor-lamp disappears into a simple, white circular shade. The only ornamentation is found just below, where the pole flares into a circular shape emblazoned with
an asymmetrical sunburst as though, while molten, the metal was stamped with a seal.

With a tabletop that rests so lightly upon its two scroll-like bases that it gives the impression of floating, the generous dimensions of this piece exceed the requirements of a coffee table and in so doing, imbue it with a presence that verges on the primal. An exploration of the power of over-scaling.
